On August 14, 1975 Sir Fletcher Jones resigned as the Chairman of Directors of Fletcher Jones and Staff Pty Ltd due to ill health.  Following his resignation, Sir Fletcher dedicated time to recording his autobiography 'Not By Myself' which was published the following year in 1976.
