In July, 2014 new owner, Dean Montgomery, undertook saftey works on the Silver Ball to remove the rusty pipes that had caused concern for a long time.  This was the first work we saw happening on site.  And it bode well for what was to come.  Since then, Dean and his site Manager Troy Kelly, have led the repair, re-purposing and restoration of the site.  The Silver Ball is waiting for a big overhaul to fix the corrosion and to then be re-painted in 2017 - which marks its 50th year on Warrnambool's skyline.
