Another chewy story!

"Valerie, a machinist at Fletcher Jones let her false teeth drop in the wash basin as she was getting ready for work in the morning.  The dentures broke in two!  Valerie was on a bonus, the more she sewed in the week, the more money she got.  She didn't want to miss work and she didn't want to be seen not wearing her teeth!  She spent the Friday at work with her teeth glued together with chewing gum!"  Mavis Cooper, Machinist at FJs, 1949-51
